Storing pictures from different directories with the same name has been addressed by assigning a unique number to every picture in the database.
Pictures and meta-data are stored in a non-destructive compressed format that does not affect the presentation of the original pictures.
In most case you will see a reduction of 30% in drive storage requirements, except for graphic formats like JPEG files that are already compressed.

TWAIN device
Some scanners are able to process several pictures in a single shot, the program can grab them all in a single pass or one by one without intermediate stage.

Share image collection
You can use the image stored in the database to either produce multimedia presentation like Slide Show, AVI movie, HTML contact sheet, these are valuable features for e-learning or publishing purpose.

Using the network version
With the network version it possible for the network administrator to restrict the creation of new topic classes and new key words to some users only.

64-bit encryption (option)
There is a 64-bit encryption module (option) to send any picture type in a secured format throught the internet (medical imaging for example). Only the recipient who have the ad-hoc player will be able to see and print these pictures. The same player can be used to scan documents and send them back in encrypted format to the expeditor.
